(admitably detailed) Plot synopsis -
You play a human who’s really down on their luck recently.
While walking by a carnival you spot a fortune teller tent. Not having much else to do, you go and get your fortune told. Couldn’t hurt, right? At most you’d loose a few dollars. To your dismay, it doesn’t look good so the rather unconventional teller goes to set up a 'luck spell'.You end up bumping into a small shelf, causing a few items and a book to fall off of it. You take a breath in to apologize but next thing you know the air is cold and your waking up somewhere you don’t recognize. However luck finally beams upon you as your found by someone who looks just a little more friendly than all the other scary creatures you’ve seen within the few confusing minutes you've been here.from than on you realize you’ve been transported to the underworld via the wrong potion falling on the open transport page of the tellers spell book, of whom is actually one of the strongest known witches who would be pissed to know you lost their grimoire.you both go and adventure the rings to find it to avoid being turned into a frog or some other creature witches fancy turning thieves into, only to get roped up in another, much longer winded scheme of having to save each realm from their own sins personified all on the bases of a 'I owe you'.
Who knew Satan would be a horse and not a red guy with horns and wings? You travel through each ring and learn their various cultures, species, and customs, and it's definitely not the smoothest ride. You meet a lot of strange people but they don’t seem all bad, they’re quite charming in their own ways, even.by time your help is no longer needed you find yourself with a new found community, and potentially love, all the stuff you had been lacking on that day you fell. Would staying be so bad?....Not to mention the debt you've probably collected during your absence..

Architecture
The Greed ring isn't one known for being merciful to those who lack experience. One wrong plan agreed to and suddenly your a few hundred bottles of sin in dept.
The environment is enough to make the average human go a bit insane with the cold tones and sterile spaces, everything made of sharp edges with little care for helpful facilities. The gold shiny sheen over many things doesn't help the average demons greed either, practically shoving something most cant have in their face wherever they are. No matter where you go its all the same, refined to a blank stub for efficiency in money making. The buildings scale tall and stare down at you.
Economy
The average greed demon endlessly chases 'quick money' with ideas and schemes that seem quite ridiculous to any other demon, teetering between having to leave the greed ring entirely and getting by.The Greed ring has gotten so far with the divide between the awfully rich and the struggling poor to the point that anyone who cannot afford to live in luxury cannot afford to live there at all. Its impossible to survive in the greed realm while being any level of poor, there being zero charitable financial aid for those in need. However though the greed economy is one that is hard to start in if you weren't born at the top, all other ring economies are much easier to thrive in so the unfortunate from the greed ring usually thrive after leaving. They are able to support this economy due to their lord being incredibly good with trades, a large chunk of underworld goods coming from the greed ring, especially clothes and fabrics.
Other
Though the Greed ring appears to be entirely made of refinement there is always the other side of the coin.
There is an underground trading, biding, auctioning, and gambling 'community' that hosts all these activities every few days with stalls and cheaply rented buildings. This 'event' draws in the most diverse customers and is usually the only reason for most demons to ever even consider going to the Greed ring in the first place.
As long as you know what your doing, you can make a good chunk of money. The greed people, or average greed demon, are like most other demons aside from always feining for a quick buck and can be pretty rude, more than other demons on average.
It's always worth it.
Architecture
A bustling place, as loud as it is bright. Buildings are packed together and often sharing walls, the stone and brick roads buckling and warping from use and lack of upkeep over the centuries. Most buildings are small but share the same business with their neighboring one, only connected by a flyover bridge high above the stream of many different demons and even some entirely non-demonic species.
The roofs don't seem to have a theme of how their built. (shape, material, color) and the terracotta glazed outer walls are equally as diverse in color.
Streets are lit up by countless amounts of string lights, lanterns with fun shades, and the occasional container fire with a group of people chatting around it.
Nearly every dining business has a outdoor seating area, usually being used to it's maximum in contrast to its empty innards.
Economy
The Glutton economy is thriving!.. Usually. Due to trend-like rampant consumption of everything values of things increase and decrease severely week to week, however if you learn to predict these trends than the Gluttony ring has one of the most favorable odds. The ring gets most of their money influx due to the Gluttony ring being a popular place for vacation or visit. It has constant parties, festivals, and events of all kinds going on. It's hard to find a place where you don't hear some distant music of a party of some sort.It is also the most populated ring even if we only count permenant residents.
Other
The Gluttony ring's party culture was inspired by Brazils' samba. Their clothing was inspired by Hawaiian traditional dresswear and some of their tattoo culture. The demons are usually incredibly nice and enthusiastic, and pretty much all of them are total extroverts.
however, do avoid being the cause of their boredom or promising entertainment you cannot fulfill. it could cost you greatly.
Tred lightly.
Architecture
It's cold and pretty much always damp as if it had just rained, even while in drought. It rarely snows and rains at least once a week, otherwise does not experience much other climates. The buildings all look old but sturdy and made to last, almost everything either reminds you of small medieval buildings or the Cologne cathedral in Germany back on earth.
The artificial moon seems to be the least bright here, the streets making good use of lanterns. The stone roads are slippery and theres only a few people about here and there, every other light within a building being lit. If it weren't for the spooky faces you'd think you had gotten transported into a movie set in the early 1900's Britain. There is a forest known to be infested by the mythical, curses, and creatures. There is a general fear of the forest whether they believe in the stories about it or not, so much so there is no known person in recent times that has attempted to venture within.
Economy
The economy is lukewarm. It never seems to get bad or worse.
The Wrath ring definitely has the lowest trade percentage out of all the rings but with the lazy econ, that doesn't effect them much. They have most their trade from selling their very high-quality wares like wools, leathers, and general hand-made goods.
Other
The wrath ring only recently got out of the 'burning witches' and 'stoning people in townsquare' thing when it comes to social progression.Everyone seems very quiet and reserved, keeping to themselves and staying within their lines. The demons live very traditionally and don't seem particularly eager to innovate their ways.. And of course, they are decently easy to irritate, especially if you come off painfully ignorant. The older generation is also very superstitious, coming off as a nutcase to the younger ones. They speak of olden' tales and omens of this and that yet it feels their chattering holds a seed of truth.
Put slogan here
Architecture
Very.. round.Everything feels soft and dreamy, buildings made of round-edged shapes, even some floating in place like a bubble with some glowing rune etched into the bottom. All buildings look to be made out of clay, and it's always just chilly enough to make wrapping up in a blanket extra cozy.
The various plants beneath your feet that you could only describe as grass and clovers is incredibly plush and you have yet to step on a random stone or twig and harm your feet.
It makes it incredibly easy to not notice all the pipes and cogs stowed away in the darker spots.
Hammocks, chairs, and couches litter even the outdoor areas, the demons in them sleeping being the only demons outside most of the time. It's like only a few people are awake at once out of the whole place. In some places you can hear the hum of the large and ancient machines hard at work, potentially even feeling the vibrations beneath you. There is a spot that is.. charmingly industrial. Coppers instead of silvers line the walls.. or maybe its just rust. Either way it looks the machines were built with some sort of care to appearances in mind as they huff steam.
Economy
Technically the economy is the best out of all the rings!.. Just no one uses it. Everything stays at a very cheap price all the time which is great for those awake but you won't find much verity or love put into the items.Their all strictly entirely machine-made, couldn't get any less 'love and care' than that. The ancient machines are the backbone of the sloth society and no one knows where they came from. It's all just always been there and has been running nonstop since.Because of this the sloth ring is the biggest contributor to trades and outputs of all kinds of items, not really specializing in one.
The ring holds somewhat of a lesser monopoly.. Thankfully no one has the energy to take advantage of it.
Other
The sloth people or sin of sloth isn't just meant to be 'their tired/lazy'. Its meant to encapsulate the hopeless feeling of just not. That feeling of no hope, no motivation, but not even sadness or loathing. Just pure apathy and fatigue despite even the lush and caring environment topped with a good economy and few pressures to live one way.
That sleeping will help you get 'it' over with faster. In the real world this 'it' varies extremely from person to person, and in the sloth ring has taken shape as a creature-ish apparition. All sloth demons have them, a little inky thing that clings to them and grows larger and more cryptic with the bigger the issues of the demon. It quite literally sucks the life out of them.
A smile that could sell ice to an Eskimo
Architecture
A clear upper and lower class reside in this ring - all packed into one vast city, the hearth of the whole ring that is otherwise piled in feet of never-ending snow. The upper class's half is characterized by large-scale buildings decorated with bright ads that shine neon light, architecturally similar to Gluttony and Greed; the lower class, however, is a collection of tightly packed buildings with convoluted roads and paths, though it is just as bright as it's counterpart.
Economy
It's pretty good most of the time, not much to say about it as it's not particularly special. The Lust ring gets most of its monetary influx from fans of idols that preform and live there, as well as tourism. Its not as big of an attractor as the gluttony ring but they have quite the few.. attractive services many can get by.They have good relations with all the other rings however on personal levels, Ammon does not have a good relation with Gulliveer.
༄ؘ ۪۪۫۫ ▹Envy Ring◃ ۪۪۫۫༄ؘ
Comparison is the giver of knowledge.
Architecture
A ring that is 80% underwater. There are a few very land masses, of which are very flat. Some are connected with bridges that commonly flood for the few land-dwellers that exist to move from island to island without having to put in the energy or danger of swimming.
These creatures are a sub-species of the Envy demon, being able to stand on two legs and be dry safely, however they all live in a constant state of moistness as the air is rarely not humid, let alone not filled with pouring rain.
They live in hollowed out pits covered with a roof made of driftwood, various grasses and kelp. It honestly doesn't look awfully sturdy...The majority of the species of Envy live underwater, way deep down, their whole civilization being made up of one goliath city. The buildings are made up of impossibly large sea flora or carved into a cliff-side.
The royal palace is the only thing that looks even somewhat like an actual building, as if it was a hollowed out pearl with marble supporting pillars and many turrets surrounding it.
Economy
The Envy ring is the most detached from everything by far. They have very little relations with the other rings or trade with them, aside from the large hauls of fish of course. They also don't even have a traditional monetary system anyways. It is one of the only places to get mass amount of sea products from.
They exchange their goods and services by trading items or work. I'll buy this if you give me a pearl, I'll dig you a ditch if you give me those jewels.
Other
The Envy people insist on family and community being of utmost importance, yet you can never seem to shake the feeling everyone has some dirt on everyone and their all just waiting for their chance to use it.
Architecture
"Well your quite the nosy thing, aren't you?"
Economy
it's blank.
Other
There is only a handfull of Pride bloodlines in recorded existence and they reside in the Greed and gluttony ring..Why don't they live here?
When it comes to gameplay, I plan to try and really capitalize on top of the fact theres pretty much only clicking to do. Turn-based combat will be mixed in with quick-time events and 'smash space' & 'hold y' moments. I wan't it to be very interactive but not complex. When it comes to becoming stronger there wont be anything complex or super difficult about it, and honestly having the player have to take time to level up the characters on their team is still not solidified in my mind as a route I will go. I really dislike when story focused games add some grind-y element that can soft lock you from continuing the story for an extensive amount of time. The MC will not have a customizable look unfortunately as I know it'd instantly add much more work on top of what I have to do. It'd only be added once I had most if not all the game complete and was highly requested.
However I will try very hard to keep the MC as neutral as possible and there will be pronoun options! You will not have to romance anyone even though there are options to pursue various characters and you will not have to only choose one.
I personally also hate having to replay majorly the same content over and over just to get only somewhat different reactions or story aspects. (As you can tell I am not making a game I wouldn't be super into lmao)So you can flirt and have specific routes you can unlock that are a bit of a separate section to the main story and are focused on that one character.. so uh.. Lets just say your dating them all and they all just conveniently never question each other loll

In every ring there are 2-3 trains traveling between them, two being for cargo and one being for public use. It's one of the only ways to travel between rings. Eros looks after all of them but mainly the public transit one.It works based off of the honors system, people being checked at random, but it's like Eros knows if someone got on without a ticket, quickly removing them off the train by simply chucking them out which could likely mean death so few demons abuse the system.
If someone must travel between the realms but doesn't have the means they train hop on the cargo trains, which is still deadly in of itself and takes someone quite skilled however manages to be less scary than having to confront Lucifers disciple on your mis-deeds.
